Reserves kick off the season with a 9 goal thriller
Aldershot and District League - Division 3
Four Marks Reserves 5 - 4 Rising Sun
Four Marks pulled themselves back from a 0-2 first half deficit to win a nine-goal thriller against Rising Sun.
Despite playing some neat passing football, their football left a lot to be desired at times. But it seemed a case of "if you score a goal, we'll score one more".
Indeed, in the last 15 minutes of the first half, Four Marks scored four without reply against the Rising Sun, turning hte match on its head.
Alan Barclay netted the first with a low shot past the keeper, then Mack Phillips equalised with a stunning strike from 30 yards.
Alex Barclay then got into the action, scoring form the penalty spot after he was brought down in the area, and later he raced through to score his second.
The second half saw Marks concede two early goals through slack defending to level matters at 4-4.
But the home side hit back with ten minutes to go, Alex Barclay getting his hat-trick, steering in a Mack Phillips cross and capping a fine performance, and a man of the match award.
